Science Experiment
We made frost and dew today!! We had to think like scientists
and predict what we thought would happen in this experiment, and then we observed
what did happened. In one tin can we had water and crushed ice and in the other
tin can we had crushed ice and salt mixed together. It didn’t take long for ice
to start forming on the outside of the
tin can. This happened because the water vapour (air) around the can was
below freezing so it started to freeze into crystals to make a frost!

Thunderstorms
In science we have been learning about Thunderstorms. We
watched a short clip of a thunderstorm and then wrote about what we could see
and hear and then we explained how they happen. Here are Shania's and Brileigh's.
Bang! I
watched a video on a thunderstorm. I saw lightning. It went down to the ground
and looked like a tree with no leaves on it. I could hear the thunder rumbling
and grumbling like a giant’s tummy. Thunderstorms happen when raindrops smash together
in the clouds and then break out.

Boom! Boom!
I saw a big flash of lightning. It was flying across the sky like an angel. The
lightning looked like a root in the garden. I could hear a rumble like a giant
with a hungry tummy. I could also hear light rain floating from the clouds.
Thunder and lightning happen when the water in the clouds smash together and try
to break out. When they do, they shoot out and cause thunder and lighting.
